The Importance of Insulation

After living in our first home for a few years, my wife and I could tell that something was wrong. It was exceptionally difficult to regulate our indoor climate, and we constantly found ourselves adjusting the thermostat. Our house was perpetually uncomfortable, and it was really frustrating. Fortunately, because we decided to hire a professional HVAC contractor to inspect our system, we were able to detect serious insulation problems early. We decided that it might be helpful to make a website dedicated to providing free information about heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, so that other people could recognize serious issues.

Pebble Stone Driveway And Adding Concrete? How To Make It Match

If you are adding to your driveway, laying concrete for a patio, etc., you should make sure it matches with your current pebble stone driveway. The contractor can do this in many ways, such as stone stamping, and coloring the concrete.

Pebble Stones

Pebble stones are much more expensive than traditional concrete. If you currently have this type of driveway and plan to add to it, there are ways you can make it match. One way they can do this is by adding color to the concrete. For example, pebble stones are typically brown and beige, so you could add a light brown color to match it or use a darker brown. Even though it will not be made out of the same thing, the colors will go well together.

This works by using a type of powder coloring agent that the contractor will add to the concrete as he/she is mixing it up. They may also choose to color the concrete after it has been laid.  To do this, they can shake the color on or spray it on using a special sprayer. Your contractor will decide what is best for your situation.

Pebble Stone Stamping

If you want your new concrete to look exactly like your current driveway, the construction company can use pebble stone stamping. This looks like your driveway, but without the added expense. The construction company will lay the pebble stamps directly on top of the wet concrete. When it dries, the stamps will be dried to the concrete so they will not come off. There are many types available, and you can choose the size of the stones, color, and more. When they are finished, you will not be able to tell the difference.

They will usually seal the new stamps, so make sure they also seal your current driveway. This will keep them from cracking, scratching, etc. It also gives the concrete a nice shiny finish that makes it look much nicer.

If your current concrete driveway is in need of repair, you may want to consider having it stamped also. The contractor can lay the pebble stamps directly on top of your driveway by laying a thin layer of concrete over it, and then placing the stamps on it.

Call a construction company like S&W Concrete to show you the different options you have when laying your new concrete.  They can usually bring out samples to your home so you can see what it will look like before they lay it.
