If you are in the process of remodeling your bathroom, and you want to make over your shower, there are a few things that you need to take into consideration while you plan for the shower remodeling portion of a bathroom remodel.
#1 Height Of Shower
The first thing that you need to think about is how high you want the actual shower head in your bathroom. For example, if you are on the shorter side, you may want to put your shower head down a little lower. Or, if you are taller, you may want to install the shower head a little higher. Do not assume that you have to go with the default height that your current shower head is set to; set it to a height that is comfortable for you.
#2 Shower Entrance
The second thing that you need to think about is what kind of shower entrance you want to have. If you want to create the feeling of additional space in your bathroom, you may want to install a glass shower door. If you really want to create more space, you may just want to create an open shower with a door or curtain rod; this will create the most space inside of your bathroom by cutting down on the space that a door takes up.
If you do want to install a shower curtain, consider installing a curved shower rod. A curved shower rod will create more space when you are inside of your shower while not taking away space from the rest of your bathroom.
The third thing you need to take into consideration is the storage space inside of your shower. If you don't want to have to hang up shower storage caddies in your new shower. Instead, think about where you would most like to have all of your soaps and shampoo stored inside of your bathroom, and create cavities inside of your shower for storage. If you have young children that will be using the shower, create lower-level storage cavities inside of your wall for their belongings.
#4 Decorative Element
Finally, think about how to increase the decorative element of your shower. A great way to dress up your shower area is to use a few sheets of mosaic or glass tile around the top or bottom of your shower to create a decorative boarder. These types of tiles may be too expensive for you to use on your entire shower, but are affordable when you use it as an accent element.
